When you think of summer, you immediately think of a holiday plan that comprises blue beaches, tan lines, never-ending cocktails, and groovy music. But thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic, this year’s summer vacation plans have all been stalled. Instead, we are indulging in armchair vacays.

Now it seems like we may have to do this for a while longer as the Balearic government has said that Ibiza nightclubs will remain shut until the end of 2020 and perhaps even until yearly next year. The news has sent a shockwave through the nightlife and tourism industry on the Spanish island.
According to some local reports, the government has probably ruled out reopening until the Coronavirus vaccine has been found. The tourist-driven country is a hotspot for travellers and partygoers and is termed as one of the party capitals of the world.

The semi-permanent closure of these establishments has put a heavy strain on the industry including the staff and musicians who work here. While indoor clubs have definitely closed, it is still unclear on the directive around outdoor beach clubs.
