According to a news report published in India Today, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) is all set to launch a new facility, wherein people will be permitted to host a party inside a metro coach. Soon, you will be able to book individual metro coaches to host birthday parties, anniversary celebrations, pre-wedding shoots, and more.

The one-of-its-kind service will be available on the Noida Metro’s Aqua line. NMRC’s move is aimed at revenue generation. The organisation had first rolled out the initiative in February 2020, but the project didn’t take off due to the coronavirus pandemic.
As things return to normalcy after two years, NMRC has issued a tender document dated March 28, according to which metro coaches and station premises can be booked for parties. The service will also be available for those who want to shoot movies and documentaries inside the metro.
What’s allowed and what’s not
As per the news report, you can book a maximum of four coaches or a specific area of a metro station on the Aqua line. While party organisers will be permitted to use flowers, banners, and non-adhesive items to decorate the metro coaches, candles and sprays will be prohibited. Only 50 people will be allowed to party inside a single coach.

The parties can be hosted in both static and running metro trains. According to the NMRC notification, running coaches will be available from 6:00 am to 10:45 pm. Static coaches can be hired from 11:00 pm to 2:00 am.

For a regular undecorated coach in a running metro, you will have to spend INR 8,000 per hour. If you need a decorated coach in a running metro, be ready to spend INR 10,000 per hour. If you want to party inside a static coach, the hourly charges for decorated and undecorated coaches will be INR 7,000 and INR 5,000, respectively.
This is not the first time when a metro corporation has come up with such an initiative. Earlier in 2016, the Gurugram Metro had also started a party-in-metro initiative. Similarly, a party by Techno Culture was organised inside a metro coach in Jaipur in 2021. It was said to be India’s first metro party and happened inside a moving metro coach.
