Ever since the launch of the Safe Travels stamp last week, many destinations have adopted WTTC’s updated protocols. Some of these destinations include Bulgaria, Canada, Jamaica, Mauritius, Ontario, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Barcelona, Cancun, Madrid, Seville, and other Mexican destinations like Baja California Sur and Yucatan.
WTTC first launched its new range of safe travel protocols about two weeks ago. This aims at providing a consistent line of guidance to travel service providers and travellers about general practices related to health, hygiene, cleaning, and physical distancing in the ‘new normal’ of the post-Coronavirus world.
As reported by Travel Press, Gloria Guevara, WTTC President & CEO, said: “The number of global destinations adopting our private sector protocols is growing at a rapid pace and it’s hugely gratifying and shows the success and importance of the WTTC Safe Travels stamp.”
She also added that “The stamp is vital to re-establish worldwide consumer confidence in travel and tourism and so travellers can be sure that enhanced standards of hygiene are in place for them to be able to travel safely.”

Congratulating the destinations who are implementing these new guidelines to earn the Safe Travels stamp, she said, “We thank these destination countries and cities for stepping forward to help ensure the speedy recovery of the travel and tourism sector and look forward to welcoming more destinations in the days and weeks ahead as our desire to travel continues to revive.”
New problems need new solutions, and this WTTC Safe Travels stamp surely seems like one of these solutions. We hope that it revive the tourism sector while ensuring everyone’s safety.
