Delhi has become an intersection of cultural events. From exciting flower expos to diverse cultural programmes, the capital is embracing art at its best. Now, returning for its second edition is World Food India, a flagship event organised by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries. The event will take place in the first week of November 2023 in the capital.
This week, a curtain raiser event took place in Delhi where information about the event was shared with the public. Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Pashupati Kumar Paras, Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries and Jal Shakti, Prahlad Singh Patel, launched the website and brochure of World Food India. World Food India is a huge platform for food processing and allied industries to connect with other businesses. It is also a great stage to showcase their USPs and expertise. The event also provides India with a chance to invite foreign investment within the country. It even supports the industrial sector of India to develop further.
The first edition of World Food India took place in 2017. The focal point of this year’s flagship event is the International Year of Millets 2023. The event will go on for three days.

Pashupati Kumar Paras talked about WFI’s five crucial elements at the launch. They are Shree Anna (the superfood of India), Innovation and Sustainability ‘Green Food’, White revolution 2.0, making India an export hub, and focus on technology and digitisation.

2023 was declared as the International Year of Millets and hence the event will focus majorly on millets and how they can assist foreign investors in the country. Discussion about how India is a developing economy and is capable of offering a lot of investment opportunities, especially in the food processing and allied sectors will also be in focus. Leading industrialists and distinguished personalities from the Indian ministry are expected to grace the event.
