
280 films, 79 countries, and nine days of all things film, art and global community building — that’s International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2022 for you! Travel+Leisure India & South Asia visited the celebrations in Goa to walk you through more details.
This year saw the 53rd edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) come to life in Goa from November 20 to 28 November 22. During the week-long celebration, we witnessed immense creative and cultural exchanges between storytellers and sellers from across the globe.

The annual festival, conducted jointly by the National Film Development Corporation of India and Entertainment Society of Goa, brings the biggest creative stalwarts all under one roof with the aim of understanding and appreciating the global cultural ethos represented through films. This year, Diageo India’s Johnnie Walker Refreshing Mixer partnered with IFFI to take their commitment to the spirit of progress up a notch with their newest ‘Keep Walking’ narrative.
Keep Walking
Born out of a vision to harness the collective, Walkers & Co by Diageo India’s Johnnie Walker Refreshing Mixer brings like-minded people from varying paths of progress under one platform and encourages audiences to keep moving forward. Implicit in this is a sense of courage and boldness. International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2022 brought together one such collective of courageous, cultural change-makers that create an enduring momentum towards progress and reinvent their ethos of keep walking.
Travel+Leisure India & South Asia met with some of these prominent personalities from the film industry who are known to challenge the conventional and go beyond the realm of commercial cinema. Think actor-director Rishab Shetty, the powerhouse behind blockbuster hit movie Kantara; and actors Randeep Hooda and Shefali Shah, among others.

Kalki Koechlin, whose newest feature film Goldlfish premiered at the festival, revealed what walking means to her. The actor said, “For me, keep walking means believing that there’s always a tomorrow. To keep going despite all odds. So, I walk if I can and sit down if I can’t, but I always keep going.”
