As per a study conducted by Dojo, a UK-based card payment provider, New Delhi has earned the 12th spot on the top 20 most ambitious cities in the world. The self-conducted study further notes that the national capital has accumulated an ambition index score—a measurement based on the country’s access to education, the local economy (GDP), new business registrations, and online search data—of 331 out of 500.
Expanding further on the findings, the study reveals that, when compared to the previous year, the city witnesses a 13 per cent surge in online searches for tips on finding a new business. Moreover, New Delhi also recorded 4,320 Google searches for starting a new business, with 1,23,942 new businesses reportedly being registered in the city. The study credits this upward rise owing to an entrepreneur’s intent and ability to thrive with low investments.

Australia’s Sydney follows next with a score of 402, while South Africa’s Cape Town trails behind at third place with an ambition index score of 384. USA’s New York (379), France (366), Singapore (366), Canada’s Ottawa (354), Italy’s Rome (342), Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur (338) and Russia’s Moscow (337) make up the top 10.
