Forget Platform 9¾. All you need to do to make it to Hogwarts is step aboard an Amtrak train along the Northeast Corridor.
An immersive Harry Potter experience
Recently, Amtrak announced it’s the official rail transportation partner for the Broadway show “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” now playing at the Lyric Theatre in New York City. And with the partnership, it’s bringing Amtrak Guest Rewards members a few unique perks. Members can now earn (and redeem) points when they purchase tickets for the show via its other program, Audience Rewards.

But that’s not all. Rewards members, Broadway fans, and muggles alike can also enjoy a bit of whimsy over the coming months thanks to four specially wrapped Amtrak trains travelling along the Northeast Regional service route between Washington, DC, and Boston.
According to a statement by Amtrak, “the eye-catching train wrap features the show’s iconic logo along with Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Draco Malfoy and the next generation of wizards: Albus Potter, Scorpius Malfoy, and Rose Granger-Weasley. The swirling clock will give you visions of time travel as you ride through the illustrious landscapes of the [northeast corridor]. While this train won’t be stopping at Platform 9 ¾, you’ll be sure to have a magical journey on the [northeast corridor].”
Of course, this is far from the only perk of being an Amtrak Rewards Member. As Travel + Leisure previously explained, members can earn and redeem points on everything from train travel to hotels, car rentals, and even at partner retailers like Amazon and Apple, along with a number of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. Rewards members can also cash in their points for gift cards to various restaurants, including Applebee’s, Outback, Red Lobster, and more. In theory, you could turn a trip to Broadway on Amtrak into dinner and a show fairly easily.
And really, the only way to get to New York City faster would be to yell out “Apparate!”
