The Tata Group has added to their list of COVID-19 relief measures by preparing some of their Taj Hotels and offering rooms for doctors, currently working on COVID-19.

The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), the hospitality business of Tata Sons released a statement on the same. “During these trying times, we at IHCL are keenly aware of our responsibility towards our community. As a reflection of our commitment, beginning today, we are offering rooms for the medical fraternity to stay at while they combat the spread of the virus.”

The rooms will be available across seven of the Taj properties including Taj Lands End, Taj Santacruz, The President, Ginger MIDC Andheri, Ginger Madgaon and Ginger Noida City Center and Taj Mahal Palace.

As of now the entire Tata Group, comprising of Tata Trusts and Tata Sons, has donated a whopping INR 1,500 crore of funds. The funds will be used for various reasons like testing kits, treatment facilities and respiratory systems across the country. Apart from this, Ratan Tata, Chairman, Tata Trusts and Chairman Emeritus Tata Sons has committed to giving INR 500 crores to the COVID-19 relief efforts.
