If you love astronomy, you know that watching the stars and exploring celestial bodies is an experience filled with great learning and awe. The sun, moon and stars make for great bodies that demand exploration, hiding many secrets behind their many layers, which give one the greatest joy to uncover.
One such phenomenon that makes celestial bodies such as Earth’s moon stand out is the blood moon, which occurs as a result of a total lunar eclipse. It is an astronomical phenomenon when the Earth comes in between the sun and the moon, blocking all sunlight from falling on the planet’s natural satellite. This results in the moon acquiring a reddish-brown hue, which has given it its name, i.e. blood moon.
