Amid this crisis, Hoang Tuan Anh, a Vietnamese entrepreneur in Ho Chi Minh City has designed a 24/7 automatic rice dispensing machine for the poor. Known as a ‘rice ATM’, the machine will allow people, who are out of work, to withdraw rice from it. From a small silo, 1.5 kg of rice is distributed by the machine to waiting workers including street sellers, housekeepers, and people who earn their living from cash-in-hand jobs such as selling lottery tickets.
The people of the region feel immensely grateful for this innovative creation. A 34-year-old mother of three children, whose husband lost his job recently, said that with one bag of rice, she can survive one more day.

Before turning to food distribution, Hoang Tuan Anh had donated smart doorbells to hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City. By delivering free food to citizens out of work, Anh wants to affirm people’s faith in humanity. The heartwarming effort reveals that good people are out there and are willing to help the needy, especially in the current economic situation.
