Now in its sixth edition, the RedFestDXB 2019 line-up will make you want to start considering a February trip to Dubai. By Gayatri Moodliar
Taking place for two days at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, the festival has seen acts from the likes of Bastille, The Lumineers, Rita Ora, Marshmello and so on, making it one of the city’s most frequented music festivals. Along with the music, these two days also allow you to immerse yourself into the cuisine of the Middle East, as street vendors from all across are invited to set up. Split between February 14-15, these are the acts to watch out for:
The California-born rapper and producer has been climbing the charts ever since he made his debut in the tail-end of the 2000s. Known for hits such as ‘Me, Myself & I,’ his latest album, The Beautiful & Damned, entered the US Billboard Top 200 at number three.
A Grammy-nominated artist and producer, he’s considered to be one of the top dance musicians. With easy hits you’ve probably heard and danced to, he’s been a part of chart-sensations like ‘Lean On’ and ‘Let Me Love You.’
Citing influences such as Amy Winehouse and Etta James, Glynne has proven to be an inspiration to aspiring musicians herself. With a distinctive voice, her emotionally-charged music has found an audience far and wide.
Not only did her debut album enter the Billboard Top 200 at pole position, but it’s also been nominated for a Grammy. Her work has earned her a legion of fans, and with smashes like ‘Havana,’ deservedly so.
One of the few rappers with a Diamond-certified single, Macklemore will also be keeping the audience enthralled. His album Gemini made it to the second position on the Billboard US chart, and his collaborations with other artists are also making the rounds.
Known for hits like ‘You Don’t Know Me’ and ‘Instruction,’ English DJ Jones has been making strides and cementing his name ever since he started, and is now one of the most sought-after artists to collaborate with.
