Being one of the ‘less-explored’ hill stations of South India, Ponmudi is a well-suited destination for weekend getaways from Bengaluru. With its picturesque landscape and pleasant temperature throughout the year, we would recommend, you visit this hidden gem of Kerala between September to February.
The road trip to Ponmudi offers an array of stunning views of nature. With Koyikkal Palace and Museum on the way, built in the 17th century, this place is known for its rich heritage, musical instruments, and models of folk art. Moving along the way, you can also indulge in adventurous activities such as trekking alongside the mighty Kallar river.
Meenmutty Falls, located just 3 km away from the Kallar main road, is one of the most attractive destinations in Ponmudi. Think of countless rivulets, natural pools and sparkling waterbodies — it’s a sight to behold.

Both these sanctuaries attribute to the thick forest covering the region with a variety of flora and fauna. Moreover, you can also witness the sight of wild animals like leopards, Asian elephants and more.
