With a six-hour preshow on Saturday, April 18, Lady Gaga along with Celine Dion, Elton John, Lizzo, Billie Eilish, The Rolling Stones, and many more kicked off the One World: Together at Home cross-platform event. By Upasana Singh
Some of the biggest names in the music industry came together for healthcare workers and raised $127.9 million for COVID-19 relief measures. The historic global broadcasting event, One World: Together at Home, was organised by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the antipoverty organisation Global Citizen, curated in part by Lady Gaga.
The pop superstar’s performance was the perfect opening to the television broadcast special, which followed the globally curated digital live stream. Dozens of famous artists including Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Adam Lambert, Rita Ora, and many more appeared and showed their support by performing from their homes.

The American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth dedicated his performance of See You Again to workers in hospitals, teachers in school, community service workers, truck drivers, and every one working day and night to beat the virus. In a duet, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello sang What a Wonderful World whilst Lizzo performed A Change Is Gonna Come.
The last two hours of the show featured Lady Gaga in conversation with Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, and Jimmy Kimmel aired on all three major late-night shows in the US. The digital streaming partners of the cross-platform special included Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime Video, Instagram, and Twitter.

After the concert, Lady Gaga tweeted, “I am so humbled to have been a part of this project.” She wowed the audience with her beautiful rendition of Smile by Charlie Chaplin. The Oscar and Grammy-winning artist has been inspiring people to take action and leading the charge in uniting the world in the fight against Coronavirus for ‘One World: Together at Home’.
