The schedule for the inter-terminal coaches has been carefully planned, as per a report by the Free Press Journal. The pickup and drop off points at terminal 1 in Vile Parle are at departure gate 2. In terminal 2, passengers need to head to P4 (after exiting arrivals). Drop off point for terminal 2 is at departure lane 3, near gates 4 and 6. The service is said to have commenced with just coaches in the beginning and will be ramped up further over time.
Airport authorities have stated that, for seamless pick-up and drop-off of passengers, the same coach will bring back the next set of travellers once it has plied from terminal 1 to 2. As per a report by the Times of India, a few weeks ago the Mumbai airport had opened a dedicated corridor within terminal 2, making it easy for domestic passengers and crew members to transit between flights, in turn easing congestion. This facility has all the required security infrastructure in place, to be conducted by the Central Industrial Security Force.
