The Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation (MPSTDC) is set to develop an eco-tourism circuit in Singrauli, also called Urjanchal, India’s energy capital. The region is called so because of its coal mining and power plants, making it an apt spot for mining tourism.
The project, in collaboration with Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), will cover sectors such as wildlife, cultural heritage, and adventure in the state. With this latest addition, adventurers will be able to explore a lot more in terms of the state’s flora and fauna apart from the popular must-visits. MPSTDC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with NCL for developing facilities such as eco-parks, and the collaboration will look at creating employment and business opportunities for the locals, reports PSU Connect.

As reported by Energy World, NCL-IIT (BHU) Incubation Centre will be facilitating research, gathering information, and the tour operations. NCL’s Chief Managing Director, PK Sinha, assured people of sustainable development of the region, and extended his full support to MP tourism for the eco-tourism circuit’s development, which is touted to be a big milestone in uplifting the state’s far eastern district.
Singrauli is known as the backbone of energy. With large-scale thermal and hydropower plants, it also supplies the nation with clean energy. This region has notable flora, fauna and cultural heritage, that will soon be explored by tourists travelling to Madhya Pradesh. This project’s motto aims at the sustainability of the region by preserving its culture alongside thrusting the development of energy production.
