Guess what! Himachal tourism has recently introduced the Vistadome coaches for Kalka-Shimla railway route. Excited? We bet! So, just in a couple of days, you can take in all the beauty of the mesmerising landscape of Jammu and Kashmir through glass-roof ceilings inside the train.
This train will have a 40-seater coach that promises to give passengers a magical experience of a lifetime. Along with glass-roofs, the Kalka to Shimla route will have rotatable 360-degree seats to offer panoramic views of the hills, automatic sliding doors, luggage racks, LED screens and a GPS-enabled information system. And, the cherry on the cake is that – IRCTC has ordered 60 such trains!
After a successful trial run on December 1, the Vistadome coach between Kalka-Shimla rail route is all geared up to put you in a sweet trance, especially during snowfall and rainfall.
If you are a fan of spectacular train expeditions, you have to have this splendid experience on your 2019 travel bucket-list. This train will have old-school cushioned wooden furnishings, spelling out sheer vintage vibe. Also, the train ride from Kalka to Shimla will cost around Rs. 500 per seat. And the best part is, the journey from Kalka to Shimla will only take 5 hours.
