InterNations, an expat network based out of Munich, revealed its list of the best and worst places for expats in 2021. Here we have listed below the top 10, the bottom three, and some other interesting ones that have made it to the list. If you’ve been planning a move to another country or to lead a life of a digital nomad, this list might come handy.

Best Places For Expats, The Top 10
Taiwan
Taiwan clinched the first spot for the third consecutive year in the survey. The East Asian country also ranked top in the Quality of Life and Working Abroad categories.
Mexico
Mexico got the second spot but ranked first in the Ease of Settling index. It also grabbed the second and fourth spots in the Personal Finance and Cost of Living segments, respectively.
Costa Rica
Costa Rica took the third position on the list and ranked third in the Ease of Settling index. Costa Rica also ranked high on Personal Happiness and Personal Finance sections with second and seventh positions, repectively.
Malaysia (4th), Portugal (5th), New Zealand (6th), Australia (7th), Ecuador (8th), Canada (9th), and Vietnam (10th) took the other remaining spots in the top 10.

Best Places For Expats, The Bottom Three
South Africa
South Africa ranked 57 on the list. Several factors, including poor performance on Personal Finance and Working Abroad indices, lead to South Africa’s poor ranking.
Italy
Italy stands at the 58th position. Italy also performed poorly on several other indices.
Kuwait
Kuwait ranked last on the list. For the seventh time in the past eight years, Kuwait takes the bottom position on the list.

Other Interesting Entries
A lot of Asian countries managed to find spots in the top 20. Singapore and Thailand took the 13th and 14th spots, respectively. From Middle-eastern countries, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, and Oman ranked 12th, 17th, 18th and 24th, respectively. China ranks 22nd, France 25th, Switzerland 30th, the USA 34th, and the UK 45th.
