Sitting on the northern shore of Great Slave Lake, Yellowknife is the capital of the Northwest territories in Canada. The town has traced a full circle–from going from a gold-mining town to becoming the centre of economic activity, and then a centre of government services, and again going back to becoming a diamond-mining town. While a lot has changed for the city, it’s ethereal beauty has always remained the same, which is why it attracts a great number of tourists.
