Frontliners in hospitals around the world have been working tirelessly to combat the pandemic, and no amount of gratitude is sufficient to salute their deeds. As they slog day and night to better the situation, New York City’s Elmhurst Hospital has reportedly surprised their staff with a free vacation, for after the crises, as thanks. By Bayar Jain

According to a report by CNN, over 4,000 hospital staff of New York City’s Elmhurst Hospital – including doctors, physician assistants, nurses, facilities and food service teams – have been rewarded with a free three-night vacation once the crises are averted. A press release by the American Airlines – the facilitators of this gift – announced the same in partnership with Hyatt. The same release also states that these vacations will be spread across multiple Hyatt hotels in select destinations in the USA and Caribbean.

In the same statement, Israel Rocha, Vice President of NYC Health + Hospitals and CEO of NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst says that this move is their generous gift to the healthcare workers. Moreover, Rocha also believes these frontliners are deserving of every bit of these vacations due to the tireless efforts they have been putting.
A statement released by Hyatt Hotels also adds that global healthcare workers would be included in the hotel chain’s Hyatt Friends & Family Rate. This implies that qualified healthcare workers would be eligible to access a special rate on their website by including a special offer code THANKYOU to validate their status. Considering the world dealing with multiple travel restrictions at the moment, the report also states that these special offers will be valid for stays through June 30, 2021.
