Gurugram’s worst COVID-19-hit regions will go under complete lockdown till July 28, which means residents will be allowed to leave their house only to buy/avail essential goods and services or in case of emergencies — District Manager Amit Khatri confirmed to the media.
Ward number 16 Arjun Nager Jyoti Par, Ward number 4 Dundehera, Madanpuri, Ward number 17 Ratan garden and Shiv Puri, Ward number 21 Baldev Nagar, Ward number 20 Shivaji Nagar and Shanti Nagar, Ravi Nagar, Gandhi Nagar Shivaji Park, Fero Gandhi Colony, Ward number 22 Hira Nagar, Ward number 23 Hari Nagar Shakti Park and Ward number 35 DLF phase 3 Nathupur, are the ones that have been listed as large outbreak areas and will face complete barricading with police deployment.

Moreover, all the residents will be required to download the Arogya Setu app, and not only will they have to undergo thermal screening, but will also be made to go for an asymptomatic screening. The DM reportedly said that the Health Department will soon start door-to-door screening in these areas, via rapid antigen tests.
While Gurugram alone has over 7,000 cases of Coronavirus, the total number of cases in the entire state of Haryana have exceeded 24,000.

Meanwhile, other states/cities that have also gone once again under complete lockdown include Bihar, West Bengal, Goa, Pune and some parts of Maharashtra. As per media reports, while 47 wards of Siliguri Municipal Corporation have been put under complete lockdown for a week from July 16, Goa has announced Janata Curfew from 08:00 pm to 06:00 am till August 10, and complete lockdown this weekend. Patna has also been put under complete lockdown from July 16 to July 31. Moreover, while Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh has been put under a week-long lockdown, Uttar Pradesh has been made to observe lockdown on weekends.
