Gulmarg just received the season’s first snowfall and the surreal hill station will now be gearing up for winter tourism.

The upper reaches of the town experienced snowfall on September 24, 2023, and since then, social media has been abuzz with images and videos of a snow-covered Gulmarg.

The snowfall brought the temperature in the region down to 15 degrees Celsius on September 24, while Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 25.7 degrees Celsius on that day, according to India Times. This is after Uttarakhand’s higher regions received their first white showers of the season, which happened due to rainfall in Chamoli, states the report.

Gulmarg is known for its lush green valleys, serene meadows and beautiful Lupin flowers. During winters, the town transforms into a gorgeous white wonderland. The popular honeymoon destination also attracts romantics and movie enthusiasts year-round owing to numerous Bollywood movies shot here.
