Learn how to master the Fijian art of cooking and, at the same time, relax at some of the world’s most scenic beaches. By Anita Rao KashiADVENTURE
Shark diving in Beqa Lagoon is among the most adventurous experiences in Fiji. Divers can expect to see large bull and tiger sharks, as well as silvertips, reef sharks, and even lemon and tawny nurse sharks. Instead of cage diving, guests are led to a low coral wall during feeding time, behind which they get to see the sharks. Feeding is done by hand as well as laid out on the sea floor so guests can get an up-close view of the creatures.
EAT
Tukuni is about stories, food and stories around food. Set in Fiji’s rich tropical greenery, the restaurant underscores the importance of fresh ingredients treated in traditional ways. Apart from laying out a wide spread of local delicacies, such as smoked fish, citrus fish in coconut milk, chicken and lamb curries with red rice, it also offers a hands-on demonstration of traditional Fijian cooking using charcoal as well as of preparing fresh salads.
