According to media reports, the kitchens on the train will also not be allowed to serve non-vegetarian food. The menu on the train will have all meatless and eggless options, and the waiters will not be handling any non-vegetarian food.
Reports add that this unique train will be given a Sattvik certificate, which will be done as part of an agreement between the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and the NGO, Sattvic Council of India.
According to reports, there are plans to introduce 18 such trains in India that will allow passengers to experience the best of vegetarian cuisine on the trains. Reports add that apart from the food, all neutral materials that come in contact with it – such as soaps, utensils and more – will have only dealt with vegetarian cuisine before.
