While self-isolation could get gloomy, British rock band Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin knows exactly how to Fix You. As a part of the band’s Together, At Home initiative, Martin performed at a live Instagram session for all his followers, creating a virtual half-hour concert.
During the mini-concert, Martin interacted with his fans who were commenting and also played songs on their demand. The show ranged from the band’s own music, to even popular covers of songs by other artists. Making the most of this opportunity, he even spread awareness on the various safety measures one should take in order to contain the spread of Covid-19. According to reports, this live streaming is expected to have reached around 59 million viewers.
Martin, apart from playing music, even chatted with his fans, telling them about his life and experience of being a part of Coldplay. Taking requests, hit songs such as Viva La Vida!, Trouble, and Sky Full of Stars dominated the comment sections. At one point during the show, he even hinted to fans about an upcoming new release. “We have a new song which I’m not supposed to tell you about, so I won’t,” he teased.
At the end of the 30-minute gig, Martin dropped yet another surprise: his friend and fellow musician John Legend would be performing his own concert next. The Together, at Home concert, is being organised collectively by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Global Citizen, which aims to raise USD 675 million towards COVID-19 relief.
