Embark upon a ‘Tirupati Darshan’ as part of Indian Railways’ New Year Pondicherry package, which will cover six Indian cities from December 29, 2021, to January 2, 2022. By Naina Atri
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has announced the ‘Pondicherry Package’ that will cover iconic tourist and pilgrimage sites across six cities – Kolkata, Tirupati, Chennai, Kanchipuram, Pondicherry and Mahabalipuram, the IRCTC shared via a tweet. However, they have defined a limit of 20 passengers for this particular tour, which will start on December 29, and continue for five days and four nights.

Tickets start from INR 45,180 per adult, while for twin sharing, the fare rests at Rs 34,710 per person. Tickets for three adults i.e. triple sharing, fare is at INR 32, 760 per person, as reported by News18. For children, aged two to four years of age, the cost (without the addition of an extra bed) will be INR 19,560. For a child between the ages of five and eleven, a ticket with an additional extra bed will cost INR 19,810.
As part of the tour package, air tickets for Kolkata-Chennai and Chennai-Kolkata will be included. Moreover, transfers from an AC vehicle for sightseeing, breakfast and dinner, accommodations, travel insurance, and VIP Darshan ticket of Tirupati Balaji in Andhra Pradesh. The prices of locations included in the prepared itinerary will also be included in the tour package. These locations include Shree Kalahasti (Lord Shiva) Temple, the Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville Matri Mandir, and Mahabalipuram. The New Year will be brought in at Pondicherry.
IRCTC will be following COVID-19 protocols such as the mandatory RT-PCR taken 48 hours before the tour starts.
