What’s more, travellers will have to get their health certificates from designated hospitals near the Amarnath Shrine Board, Kumar added.
Amarnath is among the many important shrines in India dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple, located in Jammu and Kashmir and surrounded by mountains on all sides, is a place of pilgrimage for lakhs of tourists when summer comes, as the temple stays open only for a few days in this period. The temple houses an ice shiva linga, which is a stalagmite formation and is accessible only for a few days in the summer. The rest of the time, the temple is covered in snow, making it impossible for tourists to visit.
