In a move to boost trans national rail connectivity between India and Bangladesh, the NJP-Dhaka Mitali Express will be flagged off on June 1. This is going to be the third train between the two nations after Bandhan Express and Maitree Express. By Karan Kaushik
India-Bangladesh Mitali Express to start this week
According to a report published in Livemint, Mitali Express will run between New Jalpaiguri in West Bengal to Dhaka Cantonment Station in Bangladesh. It will cover 513 km in nine hours. The train will be virtually flagged off by railway ministers of both the countries from Rail Bhawan, New Delhi. Of the 513 km, 69km are in India. The train will be operational from India to Bangaladesh on Sundays and Wednesdays. It will run on the opposite route on Mondays and Thursdays.

Mitali Express Train Schedule
The train will begin its journey from New Jalpaiguri at 11:45 (IST) on Sundays and Wednesdays. The train will reach Dhaka Cantonment at 22:30 (BST). On Mondays and Thursdays, the train will depart from Dhaka Cantonment at 21:50 (BST) and reach New Jalpaiguri at 7:15 (IST). It will have brief stops of 10 minutes each at Haldibari Railway Station and Chilahati Railway Station. There are no other stoppages.

The New Jalpaiguri-Dhaka Cantonment Mitali Express will feature four First Class AC Seating compartments, four AC Chair cars, and two luggage-cum-generator vans. Bookings have already begun.
