Airbnb launched its brand-new category of Experiences, the Airbnb Animal Experiences on October 3. Get ready for an array of never-before experiences with Airbnb. By Kumar Shree
Airbnb has truly managed to transform the way people travel with their pathbreaking innovations that have managed to offer a truly local and homely experience to travellers even in the other part of the world. This experimentation took another leap when Airbnb launched its Airbnb Experiences around three years ago. Continuing the flair for experimentation, and innovation, Airbnb has now launched a brand-new enhancement of the Airbnb experiences called the Airbnb Animal Experiences.
With Airbnb Animal Experiences you can now learn the art of horse whispering, paddleboard with corgis, kayak with conservationists, learn alongside urban beekeepers, skateboard with a world record-winning bulldog, go hiking with rescue dogs, chill out with alpacas, cuddle cows, discover arctic foxes, have afternoon tea with naughty sheep or even help rescue puppies lost within the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.
Airbnb Animal Experiences are co-hosted by over 300 species and their human representative with the aim of developing a sense of connection between the two and to facilitate a sense of better understanding. The Animal Experiences also aim towards supporting causes such as conservation, animal rescue, and veterinary care by directing the funds towards nonprofits like World Animal Protection. Over a hundred of these Airbnb Animal Experiences are Social Impact Experiences as well.
Explaining the idea behind the Airbnb Animal Experiences Airbnb’s CEO and Co-Founder Brian Chesky said, “With technology taking up so much of our lives, it’s easy to feel disconnected from nature and animals, maybe this is why social media is dominated by animal memes. Life is better with animals, but for many busy people, looking at them through a screen is the closest they can get. With Airbnb Animal Experiences, locals and travellers are just a few clicks away from being alongside them in the real world.”
Talking about the same, Alesia Soltanpanah, Executive Director World Animal Protection said, “We know people love animals and want to see and experience them when they travel, but we also know they want to see animals in a setting that respects their well-being. This new animal welfare policy created in consultation with our animal welfare experts combined with the creativity and dedication of Airbnb will ensure that adventurers have many options to experience the beauty of animals in a way that considers their welfare first.”
Airbnb has also partnered with The Dodo, which is the leading brand for web-based animal content in the US and is also one of the social channels with most-engagement in the world.
