Delhi Lit Fest, which is completely virtual in its 10th edition, kicks off this weekend, with sessions spread over two weekends — February 18-20 and February 25-27. Here’s what you can look forward to. By Anushka Goel
With an aim to promote culture, art and literature, the Delhi Literature Festival (or Delhi Lit Fest) began in 2013. Hosted around February, when the winter starts receding and the Delhi air has a pleasant nip to it, the lit fest hosts renowned authors for book launches, panel discussions, and more. This year, the 10th edition of the fest is going live, with a plethora of speakers and performances lined up over two weekends.

According to NewsX, this year’s fest is virtual, like last year, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The festival, as usual, has a host of speakers, authors, artists, and content creators from fields such as literature, theatre, and films lined up, along with book-lovers.
This year’s list of authors who will be speaking at events and discussions lined over two weekends includes Sreedhar Bevara, who wrote the bestseller Roaring Lambs, Vikram Sampath, who wrote Savarkar: A Contested Legacy 1924-1966, Bhanumathi Narsimhan, author of Sita, A Tale Of Ancient Love, Sharanya Bhattacharya, who wrote Desperately Seeking Shah Rukh: India’s Lonely Young Women and the Search for Intimacy and Independence, actor Divya Dutta, who recently wrote her book The Stars In My Sky: Those Who Brightened My Film Journey, and actor Neena Gupta.
The Delhi Lit Fest will also host politicians and personalities such as Dr Shashi Tharoor, Nobel Laureate Dr Kailash Satyarthi, Union Culture Minister G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister & author Bhupender Yadav, politician Manish Tewari, who wrote the book 10 Flashpoints: 20 Years, and more. Journalist Sagarika Ghose, who has penned a book on former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, will also be a speaker at one of the sessions, along with several other authors speaking about their works and indulging in engaging discussions with the attendees.
The Delhi Lit Fest is also set to showcase the works of Dr Purushottam Aggarwal, who wrote on the great poet Kabir, Tarana Hussain Khan’s The Begum And The Dastan’ and more.
