Under this agreement, a lot of shows by the renowned entertainment group will make their debut in Saudi Arabia. These include their new touring shows, The Illusionist, Now You See Me, Paw Patrol Live – Race to Rescue, Trolls Live!, and the Blue Man Group World Tour. What’s more, the Kingdom may soon host a new resident show by the entertainment group, which will be unique to Saudi Arabia.
The press release adds that this new agreement will also include plans to establish a regional training academy and office of the entertainment group, with a curriculum that’s led by the industry’s best experts, allowing students and youngsters to hone their skills through international circus school exchanges and artist-in-residence programs, in addition to working towards internationally recognised certifications.
The popular entertainment group has performed six shows in the country since 2018, the latest being Messi10 – a performance honouring the famous Argentinian football player Lionel Messi. This was held in November during Riyadh Season 2021.
The agreement was signed by HH Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Theater and Performing Arts Commission, and Mr Gabriel de Alba, Co-Chairman of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group Board of Directors, during a meeting in New York.
