Kimpton, together with the resort’s owner, Sunset World, and operator, Playa Hotels & Resorts, will open the new Kimpton Hacienda Tres Ríos Resort, Spa & Nature Park in 2024.
“We couldn’t have found better partners than Sunset World and Playa Hotels & Resorts to bring our first all-inclusive resort to life, and believe our special brand of boutique hospitality will translate perfectly in this renowned part of Mexico,” DeFrino added.

The Kimpton Hacienda Tres Ríos Resort, Spa & Nature Park, which originally opened in 2008, will get an overhaul to fit Kimpton’s brand style, including a full interior renovation of its 255 rooms, suites, and villas.
Future guests at the all-inclusive beachfront resort can expect amenities like 11 distinct dining concepts, five swimming pools, private beach access, a fitness centre, family-friendly facilities for those embarking on multi-generational travel, and a spa.
The resort will also embrace its natural surroundings, including the three nearby freshwater rivers (aka its namesake) that flow through the Tres Ríos Nature Park’s 326 acres of preserved tropical forest. On the property, guests can dive into 10 unique cenotes and see some of the 90 species of wildlife that call this place home.
This destination, however, isn’t the only Kimpton to choose from in Mexico’s Riviera Maya. Would-be visitors can also check into the 72-room Kimpton Aluna Resort Tulum.
