Review of Baale resort
The drive from Mopa airport to Baale at Arpora in North Goa was pleasant and picturesque, something you can always count on when in Goa.
As the car took a left turn and entered a deserted part of an otherwise busy road, I could see the huge gates of Baale located amidst tranquillity, waiting to welcome me into the next couple of days of opulence.
I was greeted by the host of staff, after which, Mr Jit Chakrabarty, who was my butler for the stay, guided me to my home for the next three days — the Sawah villa. After almost six hours of connecting flights, the moment I stepped into my villa, the world seemed like a good place again. The red carpet was rolled out with some fresh coconut water and a tour of the four-bedroom villa spread across two floors.
As I was still taking my time to explore every corner of the place, we were asked our choice of cuisine for the night, and we both nodded on Asian, like an unsaid agreement.
While spending the next few hours sipping on coconut water by the pool and the private garden, my partner and I fell in love with how well thought out the place was, and the attention to detail, down to the wooden carvings on the AC vent, which was, of course, pointed out by my plus one.
As we headed towards the in-house restaurant, Mandala and the in-house bar by the pool, The Gong Bar, I did not know what to expect. But boy, the three-course meal was more than we could ever finish. The best part was the drinks though. The mixologist asked me my choice of base alcohol and my taste profile, and proceeded to dole out the choicest drinks. I was a happy girl with her good food and her fancy floral gin drinks.

The next morning came the floating breakfast, with everything that you can think of at a breakfast buffet. Hashbrowns, grilled tomatoes, sunny side up, fresh fruits, freshly squeezed fruit juices, a bread basket of croissants, pain au chocolates and doughnuts, pancakes and whatnot.

Lunch, again, was an extensive affair, where North Indian cuisine was the star. While the usuals of naans, Butter Chicken, Dal Makhni, and Mutton Nihari were spread all across the table, the standout for me was the Tandoori Jhinga, where mustard paste was one of the main ingredients!
But the highlight of my stay came next- the cooking class with Chef Anil, where he demonstrated the original recipe of the famed Goan prawn curry. The kitchen at our villa was set up with the ingredients in place, and the chef soon came and took charge and we saw my favourite Goan dish unfold in front of my eyes!

In my two nights-three days stay at Baale resort Goa, my constant companions were the lip-smacking food, the infinity pool and the garden that overlooked the meadow outside, which made me feel like I am sitting at the edge of the world, just the feeling I wanted from Goa this time.
Food & Dining
All stays at Baale are inclusive of breakfast, which is brought to you, at a time given by you, by your personal butler. The floating breakfast in the infinity pool is definitely one of the major highlights of the stay at Baale.
But apart from this, the Mandala restaurants offer a handcrafted menu, featuring a gourmet culinary experience. But you can also have your personal chef curate a personalised dining experience for you in the comfort of your villa.
On the other hand, the Gong Bar is an open bar by the pool, where you can sit at your leisure during the day or evening and sip on some fine wine or some delicious cocktail, enjoying the view of the clear blue waters.
