A Review of Reflex- Bar, Brewery, and Dining
Cuisine

The menu at REFLEX is a mix of Oriental, European, Lebanese, and Mexican dishes. There is also a section dedicated to Indian dishes including biryanis and curries.
We Recommend
Appetiser

What really stood out from the appetisers for its simple yet soulful flavour was the Thai Style Spring Rolls (Rs479++) with finely chopped vegetables, green onion, and black mushrooms. I also tried the Lebanese Chicken Skewer (Rs549++). Though the garlic laban dip did not do justice to the original, the chicken was tender and well marinated. The best of the lot of were the Mutton Seekh Kebab (Rs679++) which was cooked to perfection with the perfect blend of spices and served with a heavenly mint chutney.
Main Course

For main course, I chose the Chicken Chilli Oil (Rs479++) from the signature dim sum section and it did not disappoint. The subtlety of water chestnuts and spring onion perfectly complemented the fierce chilli oil sauce. Vt the star of the main course was definitely the Thyme Grilled Fish (Rs799+). The fillet of the the river sole was grilled just enough, the truffle mashed potato made for the perfect base and the butter sauce elevated all the flavours. From the Signature Menu, I ordered the Sausage Crostini (Rs449+), which despite its size turned out to be quite light on the stomach. The sausages were smoked and the French bread warm with the right amount of crunch.
Dessert
The dessert menu at REFLEX is limited, but I do recommend trying the Lemon Tart (Rs429++). The citrus to sweet ratio is perfect and the pastry shell is buttery and crumbly– ideal to round off the meal with.
Drinks

Reflex brewery offers signature beers on tap ranging from malty brown lager and German wheat beer to wheat-based ale to Belgian-style ale, all with varying levels of strength. I personally loved Hefeweizen (Rs249++ for a pint)– a pale lightly hopped German wheat beer that goes with most of the dishes on the menu.

The restaurant also has a list of Signature Cocktails (Rs699+) by award-winning mixologist Yangdup Lama. Gin lovers will go gaga over Peru Lanka, which is a twist on the classic cocktail Gimlet. It has homemade guava and lemon juice whose tartiness is balanced by salted caramel.
The Minty Julep is a winter evening drink–there’s bourbon, kaffir lime, and ginger ale–that will keep conversations going.
Our Takeaway
If you are looking to hang out away from the city with live music and good drinks, REFLEX is the right place. The vibe very old world, with brown leather interiors and a huge stairway leading upto the second floor. There is a lot of space here, and the neon signs and cosy corners make for great photo ops!
