After a decade of establishing herself as a digital influencer to reckon with, lifestyle and travel blogger, Larissa D’sa has joined hands with David Dsouza, director of Tito’s group, and Anuj Poddar of The Patio to bring ‘Oh La La’ to the hospitality world in Goa. By Japleen Kaur
Situated on the backwaters of the Siolim jetty, Oh La La that took a mere four months to build, looks at being more than just a space to dine. It urges you to celebrate the small joys, cherish the moments that bring you alive, and let go off any inhibitions once you enter the premises. This vision comes backed by the visual curator herself, Larissa D’sa. A dream that many of us weave of opening a café/restaurant brought to reality by one such vibrant dreamer.
Initially named ‘The Brook’, it sounded quite boring to her and now as the hype is real, the name Oh La La has a higher recall value and quirk attached to it.
Ambience at Oh La La
In true Goan style combined with influences of her travels to Bali, she has paid special attention to the décor. ‘God is in the details’, Larissa says with conviction, cementing the fact that we don’t miss out on anything that Oh La La has to offer. Thatched roof, cane-work lamps, floral accents, starfish wall hangings, giant dreamcatchers, and a plethora of plants are what catch your eye at first go. As you move swiftly inside, finding the little surprises, you’ll truly watch the magic come alive.
Resin coasters with dried oranges, intricate table runners designed by Vidhi the founder of Ink Bucket, hand drawn floral patterns on the bathroom walls by Larissa and her friend, décor pieces from Larissa’s home and then a swing set that will soon make it to the most Instagrammable experience in Goa, if not the country itself!
Keeping in mind her persona as an influencer, Larissa has ensured that every nook and corner of the restaurant is something people would want to click. It is the swing though that brings in the most excitement. Without revealing too much information, and leaving it for all of you to cherish, the swing will have a ticket that will be charged at INR 200 per person. All the money collected from that will be donated to local charities. Larissa knows customers can afford the fee to get brilliant photos.
The restaurant also has a boat on its premises that can take you on a pleasant ride through mangroves and towards the ocean with a glass of champagne in your hand.
A limited menu with burgers, tacos, all day breakfast, pizzas that come highly recommended by Larissa, and specials that’ll change regularly–expect jazz nights, weekend soirees, cocktail tastings, and an overall chill yet chic vibe at Oh La La.
Opening Night
It’s probably for the first time that renowned hospitality names are teaming up with an influencer to create a property of this kind. However, Larissa’s family has been in the industry for years, a thing that no one knows about her.
Oh La La opens its doors today, the 19th of February, and invites you to fall head over heels with having a gala time!
