As I entered Cafe Delhi Heights at the corner of Worldmark 3 in Aerocity, little did I know that I was about to have a rendezvous with an iconic burger and my future favourite drink. By Nidhi Kandari
Once we decided on my table in this quirky restaurant and settled in, the poster on the wall caught my attention – “Juicy Lucy burger, sold till now 300,000.” At that moment, I knew one thing was definitely making its way to my tummy, and that was this! On one hand we have the big fat weddings, and on the other this big fat juicy burger. Lamb patty, vegetables and a whole lot of cheese in a sesame seed burger bun – I was sorted.
Next, on staff recommendation we had the Al Bella pizza. Thin crispy crust with dollops of bocconcini cheese and topping of fresh basil leaves, sundried tomatoes, black olives and green onions. This one was heavy on the basil and the strong flavour lingered in my mouth for a bit. Also, I am quite certain that the name was a twist to the Hindi word albela – which means unique. Smart!
I had no intention of day-time drinking, but this pretty looking drink on a nearby table lured me. Crisp, refreshing, light and tangy – Rose Sangria, one of the best I have ever had and probably the top most reason that will take me back to this place. Fresh cut fruits in the light pink rosé absolutely won my heart!
No meal is complete without a dessert, and we had a good looking one on our table. Mildly sweet fluffy cream set on a cookie crumble topped with sliced bananas and toffee syrup. It would be a lie if I said my heart didn’t ache while destroying this delicious pretty thing. But you gotta do, what you gotta do.
