Thanks to OceanGate Expeditions, a company dedicated to organising manned explorations of the underwater world, you can now visit the famous and historic site of the Titanic wreckage through the company’s new ‘THE TITANIC SURVEY EXPEDITION 2021’ project. Travellers will be trained as ‘mission specialists’ for this rare under-sea research and expedition tour.

There are six missions which have been scheduled to begin at the end of May 2021 and are supposed to last for nine to 10 days. Currently, there are nine mission specialist positions available at a cost of USD 1,25,000 (approximately INR 92,88,125) for each dive. The chosen specialists will help with navigation, maintenance, and registering their historic finds. The videos, images, laser scans, and sonar data collected by the team will help to understand the rate of decay of the wreckage, and better preserve the historic site.

“They will have the unique opportunity to serve in active expeditionary roles alongside oceanographic scientists, archaeological researchers, and Titanic expedition veterans throughout the missions. This team will document this historic site for generations to come,” said Stockton Rush, President, OceanGate Expeditions (as reported on Fox News).
If by any chance you fail to get a spot in the 2021 expeditions, no need to worry as the company will run another set of expeditions in the summer of 2022 as well.
