Barring the occasional humidity and stickiness, everything is just lovely about the monsoon season. The skies turn incredibly stunning, valleys turn spectacularly green, waterfalls cascade at their picturesque best, and city roads are painted in a riot of colours with multi-hued umbrellas and raincoats. Mountainous landscapes look dreamier, music sounds better, people turn more romantic, and your chai tastes even more divine.
Travelling across India during the monsoon is as blissful as it gets. Our unbelievable country is endowed with the majestic Himalayas in the north and northeast, the Nilgiris down south, and the leafy Western Ghats in the west. This unmatched topography makes India a sheer paradise for lovers of the great outdoors in monsoons. From thrilling treks in Maharashtra and the charming backwaters of Kerala to the alluring tea plantations of Darjeeling and the enchanting waterfalls of Jharkhand, India has lovely surprises in store for the discerning traveller.
Check out our monsoon special gallery and take a moment to appreciate the marvellous country that we fondly call home.
