
The Collector and District Magistrate of Nalanda, Bihar has announced that the three-day universally recognised Rajgir Mahotsav will be held on November 29, 2022, in Bihar. The schedule was finalised after taking into account the state tourism development department, the co-host of Mahotsav added.
The Rajgir Mahotsav in Bihar will also be showcasing the seven-day ‘Gram Shri Mela’
The District Magistrate further stated that the names of the involved artists will be declared at the earliest by the tourism department. According to a report published by Times Travel, the District Magistrate has also disclosed several details concerning the Rajgir Mahotsav in Bihar. He added that the seven-day ‘Gram Shri Mela’ will be targeted towards advertising rural art, which will be held within the Mahotsav area itself.
32 cells have been arranged for the smooth organisation of the three-day festival
It has also been stated by the District Magistrate that the celebration will be witnessing the presence of a food mela, book fair, agriculture mela, and fun zone. There will be the conventional ‘palki’ and ‘tonga’ decoration competitions, Sadbhavna March as well as painting contests lighting up the Rajgir Mahotsav in Bihar. To make sure that the three-day gala event is organised easily, 32 cells have been shaped by the district administration, which will be additionally handled by senior district officials.
The Rajgir Mahotsav in Bihar was inaugurated in the year 1986
Previously, the Rajgir Mahotsav in Bihar used to be an understated event and was generally attended by certain designated authorities and a restricted number of visitors, till it was opened to stretch at Qila Maidan in the year 2011, by the then District Magistrate of Nalanda, Bihar, Sanjay Kumar Agrawal after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar kept forth his wish to divert the Mahotsav to a location which was more convenient to everyone. Earlier, in the year 1986, the then Union Tourism Minister HKL Bhagat and then Chief Minister of Bihar Bindeshwari Dubey in the Sone Bhandar area had inaugurated the Rajgir Nritya Mahotsav.
