The Standard, Bangkok’s highest tower and the coolest new hotel is the place to celebrate the holidays this year.
With The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon gearing up for its busiest season yet since throwing the doors open earlier this year, the hotel’s dining and nightlife venues are putting on their best acts – from limited-edition pours at The Parlor to a glitzy New Year’s Eve party at Sky Beach to gourmet feasting at The Standard Grill, Ojo and Mott 32. Wowing guests from the first point of entry, The Plaza in front of the hotel, complete with its own roller disco, will turn into a Rockefeller Centre-Esque festive wonderland steeped in 1980’s Hollywood glamour, while The Standard’s Christmas Tree in the lobby, decorated in collaboration with Dhanut Tungsuwan, one of the Bangkok’s hottest creatives which promises to be a gift for all those who want to “glam their gram” this festive season.

Throwing it back to the 1980s in Hollywood where The Standard was born, The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon will bring its all-American retro glam roller disco inspired by the legendary Sunset Strip to The Plaza with daily DJ sets curated by The Standard. A groovy combination of art, fashion and rollerskating, the disco is open to all, with hourly skate rentals available from 17th to 27th December 2022.
On Christmas Eve, The Standard Grill will be putting on a four-course dinner rooted in American culinary tradition with entertainment from Sunny Trio & Natt Buntita. The menu opens on a high note with foie gras terrine and is followed by a clam chowder served in a bread bowl with serrano and celeriac. Carved table-side are Norfolk turkey, CopperTree beef prime rib and Kurobuta pork loin served with butternut pumpkin confit, sauteed Swiss chard and Brussel sprouts with black truffle jus. Saving room for the moreish pumpkin pie with crème fraîche ice cream is highly recommended. Christmas Eve Dinner at The Standard Grill will take place on 24 December from 5:30 pm and is priced at THB 3,200++ per person (add THB 1,200++ for optional wine pairings).


On Christmas Day, The Standard Grill will follow up with a lavish Christmas Day lunch served family-style. Guests will be offered heaving plates of oysters, Canadian lobster, tiger prawns, black lip mussels and Hokkaido scallop tartare as well as premium charcuterie, including paleta Iberica, Parma ham, house-cured duck pastrami, mortadella and truffled salami. The main course, carved table-side, is a celebration of traditional Christmas flavors – think roast prime rib, lamb leg and rotisserie chicken served with all the trimmings. For dessert, Not Your Standard Christmas Pudding with brandy custard and vanilla bean ice cream will round out the experience nicely. Christmas Day lunch will be served from 12:00 pm till 2:30 pm, accompanied by live music, and is priced at THB 2,800++ per person for a four-course set menu, with an optional two-hour alcoholic drinks package available for THB 1,900++.

At Mott 32 Bangkok, an upmarket Chinese restaurant, a set dinner priced at THB 8,888++ per person will be served indoors in the elegant glass-enclosed main dining room as well as outside on the terrace, with a glass of Billecart-Salmon Brut and live DJ entertainment included. Menu highlights include delectable starters and soups such as hot & sour Shanghainese soup dumplings, fire-roasted suckling pig, caviar and fish maw jelly, and double-boiled abalone soup as well as mains ranging from signature apple wood-roasted 42-day Peking duck to braised lobster and Garoupa fillet steamed with ginger.
The perfect perch to enjoy Bangkok’s spectacular riverside fireworks display, Ojo will be pulling out all the stops with a six-course set menu served indoors and Ojo’s Last Sunset of 2022 experience on the breezy terrace with live DJ sets. Inspired by the season, the menu will include such highlights as lobster tostada, veal sweetbreads, wild coral trout, roasted duck, chamoy sorbet and a glass or more of Billecart-Salmon Brut. Price starting from THB 12,000++ per person.

At Sky Beach, Bangkok’s most dramatic rooftop venue, the New Year’s Eve party options range from a general admission ticket priced at THB 8,000 net with a two-hour open bar from 10 pm till midnight to a VIP experience at “The Peak” for THB 18,000 net per person (minimum of four guests per table) with one bottle of premium Champagne per person and countdown shots at midnight included. Revelers can also look forward to DJ sets from local nightlife heroes and world-renowned international DJs Lost Frequencies who is ranked as no.28 in the world & Aroop Roy.
