Tropical storm slams Philippines

Nine people have died and thousands have been forced from their homes after a tropical storm slammed into the Philippines. Tropical storm Nock-ten triggered flooding and landslides when it made landfall along eastern areas of Luzon Island yesterday. Speaking to the BBC, Governor Joey Salceda of Albay province, said three children have died in a landslide and two men were killed by a falling tree.
