New Hotels.com survey reveals that travelers are wanting to return to the country...
Travelers worldwide are once again considering visiting Japan, following the devastating 11 March disasters and subsequent nuclear fears that have caused tourist arrivals to plummet. New figures from a Hotels.com survey showed more than 60% of global respondents are now open to visiting the country. Japan ranked in the top three favorite global destinations for more than half of respondents worldwide, with the majority preferring a visit to the capital, Tokyo. Eighty-six percent of respondents also said they would consider a trip to Japan within the next year. Flight and hotel costs were a major incentive, with almost 70% saying they would visit Japan now if the price was right. The country’s food, culture and sightseeing were also cited as important motivations.
