Malaysia and Singapore have officially sealed a land-swap deal relating to the new cross-border rail network. According to Channel NewsAsia, the agreement has seen Singapore offer four parcels of land in Singapore’s Marina South area and two more in Ophir-Rochorto, in exchange for existing Malaysian railway land in Singapore. The move will facilitate the development of a rapid transit system (RTS) in southern Malaysia and Singapore. The Lion City’s RTS will be extended to Johor Bahru by 2018.
