Design unveiled for Wuhan’s mega tower

Published on Jun 23, 2011

The design of the Wuhan Greenland Center, which will become the world’s third tallest building upon completion, has been revealed. Designed by AS+GG Architecture - the company that created Dubai’s Burj Khalifa - the new megastructure in central China will rise 606 metres above the streets of Wuhan, with the outer walls curving inward and meeting at a point at the top. The CNY5 billion (US$772 million) tower will take five years to complete and will house a luxury hotel, as well as office space, and residential and retail areas.
