New bus system to launch in Bali
Published on May 31, 2011
The Trans Sarbagita Mass Transit Bus System will be launched in Bali in June 2011, the Bali Post reported local authorities as saying. The longawaited service will connect Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar and Tabanan. A fleet of 60 buses will operate as ‘feeders’ to the main Sarbagita routes, which will be operated by 15 new buses, the report stated. Starting next month, the first phase of Trans-Sarbagita operations will connect popular tourist destinations such as Sanur, Jimbaran and Nusa Dua. The scheme is one of many measures being considered in an attempt to ease Bali’s traffic congestion.
