Published on May 6, 2011
Bangkok’s BTS sky train will be extended from 12 August. The Nation reported yesterday that tests started this week on the On Nut-Bearing section of the Sukhumvit Line in the east of the Thai capital. Trial runs will take place from 16 June to 11 August before the planned official launch of operation on 12 August. The 5.25km-long extension, which is reported to have cost THB8.9 billion (US$296 million), will include a stop at Bang Na, home of the BITEC exhibition centre.
