New reports of temple damage in Thai-Cclashes
Published on Apr 26, 2011
Cambodia has once again accused Thailand of damaging ancient temples, following three days of border clashes. Channel NewsAsia reported the Cambodian Defence Ministry as saying that shelling from the Thai side had caused damage to the ancient temples. It didn’t specify the extent of the damage. So far 12 people are reported to have been killed in the latest outbreak of violence on the disputed border. The weekend’s clashes came at the Ta Krabey temples, approximately 150km from the hotly-disputed, UNESCO-listed Preah Vihear temple complex. The UN has called for both sides to bring an end to the fighting.
