Garuda goes double daily to Bangkok

Published on Apr 20, 2011

Garuda Indonesia will increase flights on its Bangkok-Jakarta route to a double daily service starting 17 June 2011. The additional flight will operate using the national carrier's new Boeing 737-800NG aircraft, with a new in-flight entertainment system offering seat-back touch-screen LCD TVs.

Garuda currently operates a daily service from Bangkok to Jakarta, departing Suvarnabhumi Airport at 2.10pm, arriving in Jakarta at 5.35pm. The inbound flight departs Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta Airport at 9.45am, arriving in Bangkok at 1.10pm. The new outbound flight will depart Bangkok at 5.10pm and arrive in Jakarta at 8.35pm. The inbound service will depart at 12.50pm, arriving in Bangkok at 4.15pm.

“We’ve seen a continued surge in demand since the introduction of our daily service over a year ago, due to our convenient flight timings and network that allows passengers to make easy connections to other regional cities from Jakarta,” said Bambang Sunan, Garuda's General Manager for Thailand, Myanmar, Laos & Cambodia. “Passenger travel to Jakarta continues to grow and with the additional flight, we will have the ability to better meet our customers’ needs,” he added.
