Many dead in Yunnan earthquake

At least 25 people died and more than 200 others were injured when an earthquake struck southern China’s Yunnan province yesterday. According to Chinese state news agency, Xinhua, the 5.8-magnitude quake struck at around 1pm local time on Thursday, causing more than 1,000 houses and a supermarket to collapse in Yingjiang county, close to the border with Myanmar. Approximately 130 of those injured are reported to be in a serious condition.
