Cathay to appeal against EU ruling

Cathay Pacific Airways has announced that it plans to lodge an appeal following European Commission’s decision November 2010 decision in found the airline had violated competition laws. The Hong Kong-based airline was fined GBP57.1 million (US$90.7 million) for its alleged role in a cargo price-fixing operation. A spokesperson for Cathay said it believed it had “good grounds” for lodging an appeal, without offering any further information. Cathay was one of 10 airlines fined for collaborating on the price of cargo.
