The southern Japanese island of Kyushu is planning to introduce a new range of luxury tourist trains to offer a series of three-day tours, the Japan Times has reported. Kyushu Railway Co is planning to capitalise on the launch of high-speed rail services to the island in March this year, with the new luxury journey planned between Hakata and Kagoshima. Expected to debut in 2013, the luxury trains will feature up to seven carriages with sofas, dining tables and large windows, along with lounge and restaurant cars. Each trip will be limited to about 30 passengers.
